Ducted Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning
Your comfort, our expertise and care
ScottsAir and Panasonic
ScottsAir uses and recommends Panasonic Ducted Reverse Cycle units for heating and cooling your home. Panasonic is one of the world leaders in air conditioning solutions, and offers a wide range of turnkey systems. These systems comply with the strictest environmental standards, and offer maximum effectiveness; two reasons why they are they are the preferred solution.
What is a Ducted Reverse Cycle System?
A ducted reverse cycle system has the advantage of providing refrigerated cooling in summer and heating in winter, all from the same system. These solutions comprise a central unit, a compressor and a system of ducts and outlets. The compressor is located outside your home, whilst the central unit is usually installed in the roof and is connected to outlets installed in your home via a system of ducts.
How does Reverse Cycle Air conditioning work?
Ducted reverse cycle air conditioning uses heat transfer, extracting heat from the air outside (even on winter nights). The compressor unit contains refrigerant in coils which absorb the heat from the outside air. This is then pushed by the compressor into the coils in the central internal unit. The central unit fan then releases the warmed air through the system of ducts and outlets into your home. And efficient refrigerated cooling is provided by reversing the flow of the refrigerant through the system.
Ducted reverse cycle air conditioning provides efficient and economical cooling and heating, as well as filtering and dehumidifying the air. The running costs are up to a third of the cost of direct element heaters, with three or more units of heat being transferred for each unit of electricity used. Running costs are further reduced by efficient zoning of rooms and areas to enable separate heating or cooling. The duct system can be zoned to facilitate easy control of the environment and comfort levels throughout your home.
Quality Components
Quality components are important to ensure that your new system operates effectively, keeps you comfortable and saves you running costs. ScottsAir prides itself in selecting the right ducting and fittings, so we insist on the Metalflex ® range of products. The smooth internal surfaces of these products minimise noise levels and maximise airflow, to optimise your system’s performance.
All systems are fitted with a Profiler Metal Return Air hinged grille (with filter) to further optimise system performance and air quality, and with Ezycollar moulded air volume balancing blades to ensure smooth, efficient and versatile operation.
