What is Ducted Gas Heating?

A ScottsAir ducted gas heating solution consists of a heating unit that is connected to strategically placed outlets (either in the ceiling or floor), via a system of ducts. The position of the outlets is determined to ensure that each room is heated efficiently and effectively. The heating unit position can vary depending on your home.   It is usually installed under the floor or outside. However, it can be installed in the roof if your home is built on a concrete slab. Connecting the heating unit and the outlets is a series of ducts, which are hidden out of sight.

How does it work?

A ScottsAir ducted gas central heating system draws air from outside your home through a return air grille fitted with a filter (to optimise performance and air quality) and passes it through to the heater unit. Here the air is warmed and a fan pushes a gentle flow of warm air through to the rooms of your home via the network of ducts and outlets. When the temperature that you have set is reached inside your home, the system switches of the burners inside the heating unit. To utilise the remaining heat inside the unit, the fan will slowly come to a stop. And to ensure a consistent, warm air temperature is maintained throughout your home, the thermostatic controller regularly monitors the temperature and controls the operation of the heating unit.
